In July 2020, Jade Phoenix Hoskins — Lady Phoenix, a Trans woman and entrepreneur, looked at Camden and decided the community deserved better. Not just a bar. A home with its name on the door. She built it.
The permanent venue opened on 5 November 2021 at 119 Hampstead Road. What followed was five years of Trans Pride events, drag cabarets, community nights, karaoke marathons, and the kind of Saturday evenings that people still talk about on Monday morning. Through a pandemic. Through the financial pressure that no independent queer venue should ever have to carry alone. Through every reason there could have been to close.
ZODIAC stayed open. Open. Trading. Fighting. The community showed up — and over £300,000 was raised for LGBTQ+ causes in the process.
On 9 May 2026, after a building sprint and a full refurbishment, the doors opened again at noon. The community came home. This wasn't a launch. It was a return. ZODIAC is open. Come in.
Today ZODIAC is the bar, club and karaoke venue at the heart of Camden's LGBTQ+ community. Mirror Mirror every Saturday. Karaoke open from 7pm every day — hosted by Dee Chanelle from 10pm on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Eurovision. Drag bingo. Late nights that matter.
119 Hampstead Road, Camden, NW1 3EE. Two floors. Ground floor cocktail bar with stage and cabaret space. Basement nightclub with full professional sound and lighting. Gender-neutral toilets throughout. Fully accessible entrance. Nearest tube: Warren Street (5 min) and Euston Square (8 min).
